This post is a little later than I had anticipated due to me being away for most of Sunday and Monday at a BioBlitz. But it's better late than never!

Community Blog Topic: What is Your Favourite Class and Spec?

This weeks WoW Insider Community Blog Topic comes from Robin Torres and is "What is your favourite class and spec?".
"What is your favorite class/spec and why? Has it changed over your time playing WoW? Do you actually play your favorite class or are you playing another for the good of your guild or grouping with friends?"
I think this is an excellent community topic but that doesn't mean it's an easy one to answer. If it was what's your least favourite class that would be easy. But it isn't. I haven't played every class which does mean my answer is a little biased towards those that I have played. That said I only have 2 max level characters, one in the high 80s and a range of other low level character's that get played when I have spare time. So, again there will be some more bias towards the classes I'm more familiar with.

I think there is something about each class I play that I like. If there wasn't then I wouldn't play them and they'd either be discarded or deleted. I could easily waffle on about each class and what I like but that would be me avoiding the question really. Instead I'm going to take the plunge and say my hunter.

My hunter is my main so she get's the most game play and is always first to be leveled. I love be able to have pets. Not only are they brilliant fun to collect but handy too. I like being able to go out with a tanking pet (aka Gary) and kill shizzle. That said I am far from the best hunter in the world and things that are "easily soloable for hunters" are often not that easy for me. But meh I enjoy what I do and that's all that I care about.

As for spec I'm mainly survival with beast mastery as my secondary. When I started out BM was my main spec and I enjoyed it. In all honesty I'm not sure what prompted me to change. I think, perhaps, another hunter in my guild suggested I try out survival and that was that. I've never tried Markmanship but I do intend to on another hunter that I will one day level Horde-side (hopefully). Despite playing 99% of the time as a Survival hunter I have to pick Beast Mastery as my favourite spec - quite simply for the pets!

New Hobby - Killing Humans!

I've taken a massive plunge and rolled not only on the darkside but also on a RP server. You may remember some time ago I spoke about my desire to find a Horde home and the struggles I've had in settling down. But I'm hoping this is finally it. Home.

Hey you! I'm Luhnah!

Breakfast Topic Thoughts: How Did You Choose Your Guild?

Todays WoW Insider Breakfast Topic, asked by Elizabeth Harper, is "How did you choose your guild?".

For me this is fairly simple - I didn't really choose. I've been in the same guild since I started playing in February 2012. It's the guild that my boyfriend (who has yet again returned to blogging) was in. At the time I started playing WoW properly he was an officer in the guild. I knew maybe one or two of the people from when I'd been allowed to play on the boyfs account. So it seemed a fairly locigal step to join the guild, atleast until I'd found my feet in Azeroth.

Blossoming Ancient!

I know there's been a lot of these posts the past few days but I couldn't help it - I wanted to show mine off too! Yesterday the boyf purchased me a Blossoming Ancient as a belated birthday gift. It's quite simply an amazing pet and I'm properly in love with it *big grin*. I can't wait to see him change with the seasons...

Big yawn!
Flowers!
It's also worth noting that the Blossoming Ancient is £7 from the Blizzard Store unlike the other pets which are £9.

Beware: Fake GM's!

Juts a very quick post to say that last night I received a whisper from a fake GM. I have reported it as appropriate but thought I'd just share the warning with you all. I'm sure none of you would be stupid enough to believe this!! I also took a screenshot so it's doubling as a handy way for me to store this incase it's needed by Blizzard.

Friday Fun-Run!

Last night was the first Friday Fun-Run (as I'm calling it) but it looks like these will be becoming regular events. It was organised via the wonder that is twitter with MissMurloc and Chromeeh (GM of Sophrosyne, Nordrassil) and the helm. The idea of these events is primarily fun-runs to get achievs, mounts etc from older content and if you're interested then check out twitter for details.

Unfortunately I was at work late (stupid contract deadlines) so I missed most of the fun but I did make it home for the last few bosses in Ulduar. It was really fun for the short time that I was involved. Here's the achievements I managed to get:

                Firefighter (25 Player)
Alone in the Darkness (25 Player)
He's Not Getting Any Older (25 Player)
The Descent into Madness (25 Player)

Which help me towards The Secrets of Ulduar (25 Player) and Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25 Player) which rewards the Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake.

Breakfast Topic Thoughts: Why Can't I...?

Today Elizabeth Harper asked 'Why Can't I...?' play a Gnome druid, hunter or paladin amongst other things and what unanswered WoW questions the readers have.

Firstly, talking about Gnomes I really love them as a race. Now I know there's Gnome haters in Azeroth but at the end of the day they're the one's missing out on having a green beehive hair-do and awesome squinty faces whilst dancing (see pics).

Some Pictures of Horridon...

... both dead and alive!

Saturday I returned to WoW after a week of not playing. I'd been away at a wedding the previous weekend and uber busy with deadlines at work so I'd chosen to not renew my subscription 'til things settled down.

Some ToT architectrure.

Brawling in Bizmo's

I've finally gotten around to a bit of brawling and it was quite a mixed event. I purchased my Blood-Soaked Invitation some time ago, via the Black Market Auction House, for just over the starting price of 1,000G. Since then a lack of real time and I guess courage has meant that I haven't bothered taking part in any brawling myself.

Breakfast Topic Thoughts: What are you embarrassed that you didn't know?

Earlier I was reading today's WoW Insider Breakfast Topic in which Robin Torres asked "What are you embarassed that you didn't know?". There's a fair few dumb things that I've not known about in my short time playing WoW but by simply reading the comments I've learnt a whole load more!

Robin recently discovered that Bind on Account (BoA) items can be sent cross-faction but not cross-server. Something that I had no idea about! I don't have many BoA items as it goes and I tend to keep all my Alliance chars on my main server and have Hordie's dotted all over the place so it's not overly important to me that you can do this. Nonetheless, it's handy to know.

From the comments:

That gear decay comes from being in combat and not from being hit! Just yesterday I was in LFR and suddenly my ranged weapon (bow) appeared as damaged - I had no idea why as I hadn't been hit or died for some time.

A couple of people commented about how you can put any colour gem in a gem slot. For example, you could out a red gem in a blue slot if you wanted. I honestly thought the colours were fixed to those displayed on the gear.

That monks can roll forwards (which I knew) and sideways and backwards! Similarly, the mage ability Blink can be glyphed with Glyph of Momentum so that it ports you the direction you're moving and not facing.

A couple of recent discoveries:

There is no doubt a lot of stupid things that I didn't know about and have gradullay become aware of. In all honestly I can't think of many right now but here's something I read about today and one from not that long ago...

Having just read Soco (from Vault of Light)'s recent post about character transfers I've learnt that there is a transferrable gold limit of 50k per character. This really doesn't seem a lot to me (not that I have that much gold myself) but I can see why others, like Soco, woould have trouble with this.

Not that long ago, just after Patch 5.3, I went to do one of the new scenarios as requested by Lorewalker Cho. Upon finishing the scenario I received my Greater Cache of Treasures which I opened to loot and found I was Valor capped. The cache then remained in my bags containing the VP's that I couldn't loot. I needed to spend some VPs but I knew that I didn't want anything from the vendor Commander Oxheart. I then asked in guild what I could do about my situation and explained that I seem to spend most of my time capped when it comes to both valor and Justice points. In the past I've wasted hundreds, probably thousands, of both not knowing what to do with them or how to spend them when I don't want to buy from the vendors. And then a guildie told me I could upgrade my gear!! I'd heard people talk about these gear upgrades but just assumed none of my gear was suitable. I felt pretty stupid. I even took a screenshot so I knew where to go in future to upgrade gear.

Community Blog Topic: What 3 features do you wish WoW had?

WoW Insider has started hosting 'Community Blog Topics' which I think is a really great idea and way for the blogging community to interact etc. This is the first time I will be particiipating in this community event but hopefully there will be many more in the future.

Last week Robin Torres asked 'What 3 features do you wish WoW had?'. Robin's wishlist consisted of:
  • Free server transfers
  • Unique class storylines
  • Account-wide mail
All of which I like the sound of. But I do have some wishes of my own...

Level scaling
The abilty to scale a character down (obviously not up) so that you can quest, dungeon etc. with lower level friends or to complete content at the appropriate level (so that it's a challenge). For me there is a lot of content that I never had the chance to do when it was current. I know I can do dungeons still but there's a lot of older raids that I'd like to have experienced. I hear lots of nostalgic stories of how hard Raid-x was back in the day and how better to understand these sentimentalities.

Galleries/Museums (Similar to housing)
A lot of people talk about in-game character housing which I like the idea of. However, I'd much prefer it to be a more gallery/museum like facility. I'm not overly fussed about my characters having beds, wardrobes and sofa's but I would like a place to store [older] archaeology artefacts that I've made (ie a museum). Moving slightly more towards housing I'm quite keen on the idea of a communal guild area where the heads of defeated bosses are displayed - similar to how you might see the stuffed & mounted head of a deer in a stately home. This being said I can see the appeal of character housing in general.

Storage Solutions
I guess this in part relates to the above point. I am a bit of a hoarder but I think it's a general issue within the game - that being, people have bags and banks full of items that have no day-to-day use but they don't want to get rid of. Above I have outlined how archaeology items such as Kaldorei Wind Chimes can be stored but what about tabards? or armour/transmog sets?
I think tabards would work really well being incorported into the character pane ('C') in a similar way to titles. Once you purchase the tabard it appears in this pane and can be chosen.
Armour/transmog sets would again work well in galleries/museums. I'm not saying have an unlimited set of manakins waiting to hold theses sets but maybe two or three. Or even if you had to pay for your manakins like you'd have to pay for storage.
