Mrgylgyrgl!

It's #MurlocWeek! That's right, Murloc week!!

Miss Murloc, from To All The Squirrels, loves Murlocs - just incase you hadn't guessed that already. This week they've been doing a lot of Murloc-y things including An interview with a Murloc, Murloc themed transmog ideas and Murlocs on YouYube.

As my own personal homage to the slimey Murloc community I took my druid to the Blasted Land and saved some tadpoles...

(I was actually questing there when Leo announced Murloc Week so I prepared the pics in advance)

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 30

Day 30: Cluttered

I know a few others had the same idea for this theme but I think that my bags say a lot about me. I'm a hoarder - in both reality and the virtual world. This is after I sold a load of stuff from my hunters bag. The left bit is her bank and the right her bag.

I was going to show you my personal guild bank but that would be even worse!! The worst part is that pretty much all of my chars have similar situations - bags of useful crap!

In addition to my bags and bank being cluttered I think my action bars are also in a bit of a state. There's abilities on them that I never use. To be fair, theres abilities that I don't even know exist and when people talka bout them it literally goes over my head. A prime example is Disengage - I rarely if ever use it but people rave about it being an essential hunter ability... so it sits there... waiting to be used... some day...

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 29

Day 29: Lucky

For this I've decided to go with my beloved Drake of the North Wind. Anytime someone mentions this amazing mount I feel the urge to tell them about when I got mine - like a proud parent talking about their child. I don't mean to boast but I love it that much. I also appreciate how lucky I was to have it drop for me on my first or second run of The Vortex Pinnacle!

One of my favourite things about this mount is the lightning that flows through it's stone body. I made a couple of GIFs to try and capture this but they aren't the best quality sadly...

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 28

Day 28: Corridor

I took this inside one of the corridors in Auchindoun. I was able to get my rather large Boomkin bum right into the corner to get the double aspect of the shot.

Naked Raiding: Black Temple

It's been a while since the first naked raid back in April so I was really looking forward to it. It certaily lived up to my expectations and I had a brilliant time in Black Temple. It was a near enough full raid group and despite being naked, with white weapons, it went really smoothly.

Big thanks to MrandMrsWoW for organising it and to everyone that turned up and really made it happen.

#WoWscreenshotaday: Days 26 & 27

Day 26: Entrance

One of my favourite instance entrances in-game has to be the entrance to Onyxia's Lair.

Day 27: 10 minutes from home

For this one I was inspired by an article on WoW Insider a while back Have you ever gone for a walk?. I started off directly below Dalaran city and followed the road around to the south and into Dragonblight. I walked for 10 minutes and this shot is taken from where I finished - in the Crystal Vice.

My Weekend Back Home

Hi Peeps!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I was away from Friday 'til yesterday so I have a lot of blogs to catch-up on. Hopefully I'll be up to-date by next weekend.

I spent the weekend back at my parents as we had a wedding to attend - the fifth and final wedding that I've attended this year. Although it wasn't your traditional wedding. A relative who lives in Canada, who got married over there a few weeks ago, was having a celebration / party. It was great to catch up with family that I haven't seen for 3 or 4 years etc. We also got given some epic favours - M&Ms!

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 23, 24 & 25!

I'm away this bank holiday weekend so have put my screenshots for Days 23, 24 & 25 in a single post. Have a good weekend and I'll see you all Monday!

Day 23: Yellow

This picture is off the skyline in the Blade's Edge Mountains. I really struggled to think of something that matched the theme of yellow! Nonetheless I'm really glad I made the decision to travel to this zone.

Day 24: In the background

Oh no!! I seem to have lost Kitty somewhere in the Lair of the Jade Witch!! I'm sure she's lurking in the background somewhere...

Day 25: Culture

Whilst leveling my Druid in Terokkar Forest I came across the Arakkoa. They're a strange bunch of bird people and I imagine their cultures pretty weird too.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 22

Day 22: A room

I took this picture inside of the Purple Parlour in Dalaran. It's a really pretty, quiet little room to just go and sit in.

200th Blog

Yep, you guessed it - this is my 200th blog!

Back in March I posted my 100th blog, just 5 months after starting my blog. Here we are in August, 5 months after my 100th blog and 10 months into the blog as a whole. Which means we're very close to my 1st blogiversary. And also that writing about 100 posts in 5 monts is average for me, or so it seems. In my 100th blog I did a sort of mini review of things so far and I've decided to do that again plus a few little extra things here and there.

One major game change for me is raiding. In April I took part in my first LFR and much to my surprise found it wasn't the horrendous tortuous experience I had expected! I have since tried to do on LFR a week. Initally I was working through the various raids going up a tier (I think they're tiers) each week. More recently, I have been doing the Terrace of Endless Springs more often than anything else as I really like it! Plus I'd quite like the gun (Taoren, the Soul Burner) from Lei Shi - who I should point out I love.
Note: I got the gun during tonights LFR night :)

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 21

Day 21: Slow

I took this screenshot earlier. It's my druid Tertami, who I've been leveling recently. Her skinning skill is up to date with her leveling but her leatherworking is not!! It's quite far behind and the reason being - it's so slow to level! You need so much leather for each crafted item that it requires you to spend extra time in a zone skinning once you out-level it. I'm currently skinning in Outlands but my leatherworking requires mats from the end of vanilla to progress to the point where I can use what I'm skinning now *rolls eyes*. My plan is to level some more, go back to the Blasted Lands, skin some more and get to crafting Outlands gear.

Alt Appreciation #DeathKnightWeek

Last weekend Laeleiweyn proposed the idea of celebrating the differeny classes in WoW via Alt Appreciation. Each week a different class is celebrated and it's up to you how you celebrate each class. I really liked the idea thinking it will give me a reason to play some alt classes that I don't play that often and even try out some new ones!

My DK is a little Gnome lady called Tizzling. She is my third level 90 and I'm currently using her to farm some veggies for my hunters cooking (which I could probably finish now). I do use her to run scenarios and dungeons in a vague effort to gear her up.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 19

Day 19: Lost

For todays 'Lost' theme I am presenting a picture of me jumping out of some lava at Blackrock Mountains. A long time ago, we were doing a guild run of Molten Core but I wasn't attuned. So, I needed to run through Blackrock Depths in order to do this. In my wisdom I said that I'd be fine navigating my way through but after I spent about 10-15mins lost someone decided to come fine me. I then accidently fell into the lava and somehow managed to swim to the entrance of MC without realising it. I then entered the raid to find that the people looking for me were on there way to my last known position with Blackrock Depths. Whilst I found it quite funny I'm not sure that anyone else did!!

SWPD Update

Just under two weeks ago I posted that me and a few WoW friends had decided to go our seperate ways from our then guild. In the 11 days since that post Stormwind Police Dept has made some real progress and so I thought I'd update you on whats been going on.

Members
Initially we started with the five founder members which quickly progressed to six. The sixth person was a real bonus to the ranks for a number of reasons; he has two legendary weapons, he's a great guild/team player and he happens to be a real-life friend of mine from undergrad.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 18

Day 18: Someone you spoke to today...

Disguised as Hozen.

Disguised as Trolls.

Here's a couple of screenshots I took with my guildies Jason & Rob. We did some scenarios together this evening whilst chatting on mumble.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 17

Day 17: Exercise

Everyone loves smashing stuff with their head, right!? I swear the beehive helps!!

My First Heirloom!

As you may know from previous posts, such as my answer to the WoW Insider Community Topic 'Is leveling too easy?', I don't use heirloom items. It's a personal choice that I have made for myself. I didn't decide to not use heirlooms to be awkward or even as a sort of experiment - it just kinda happened. With time I guess it became more of a concious decision - I chose not to purchase heirlooms when leveling alts etc.

I jokingly call people within my guild cheats for using heirlooms and they joke about how long it takes me to level characters. This is without a doubt partially due to my lack of heirloom gear and the leveling boost they often give. But it is also related to my dilly-dallying about and un-streamlined way of playing the game. But that's how I like to play and level.

Having said this I have caved in a little! Last Sunday I came second in the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza and having most of the prizes (including a number of High Test Eternium Fishing Line) I opted for the heirloom ring - Dead Pirate Ring. My druid now has it equipped and it's granting her the 5% xp increase from killing monster and completing quests. Granted, this isn't a massive boost but it's the first heriloom I've ever equipped and it will no doubt speed up my leveling, atleast a bit.

Despite having equipped this heirloom item I don't think it's the start of a slippery-slope. I can't see myself going a complete 180° and wearing full heirloom gear on all my leveling characters from now on. In fact, by the time I've got my druid leveled up I'll probably have forgotten I have the ring!!

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 16

Day 16: Cooking

This is my mage Jojopanda (she was made before I knew panda's would exist in-game) & the cooking supplier Jojo who I'd love to say Blizzard named after me...

#WoWscreenshotaday Days 14 & 15

Day 14: Trash

Some of my favourite trash can be found in Scholomance!

Day 15: The Best

For me the best thing about completing Battlefield: Barrens is the title the Hordebreaker! I'm also a big fan of the overturned shipments for speeding things up. I have literally just finished the weekly for the first time - yayyy!

Community Blog Topic: Should all classes get a fourth spec?

This weeks Community Blog Topic is Should all classes get a fourth spec?

Currently in-game there's 11 classes, with each class having 3 specs except druids which have 4. Therefore there's 34 total specialisations to pick from when leveling a character. However, if you were to utilise the Dual Talent Specialization ability you wouldn't need to play 34 characters. Rather, 2 of every class, totalling 22, meaning two full realms!

I'd going to make a stab in the dark and say that very few players will have played every available spec in-game (all 34). Not to mention playing each spec for long enough to get a real handle on their unique abilities, the pro's and con's, and most importantly whether they suit your play style or not.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 13

Day 13: Fast

This part of a screenshot shows two different things relating to 'fast'. The first being the progress that my new guild, SWPD, has made in the week since it was formed. We've reached level 3 unlocking the perk Mount Up. I have also recently gained the ability to use flight form on my druid which makes traveling around and questing a lot faster.

My Legendary Quest: Part 1

A couple of days ago I completed the first part of the Legendary quest chain, Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince. I know I'm quite far behind some people but considering I only sporadically do LFR I don't think it's taken me too long. I also had a bit of bad luck with collecting the sigils. On Sunday, I finished off with 19 Sigil of Power and 10 Sigil of Wisdom.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 12

Day 12: Macro

This is the macro I use the most - my hunters misdirect to 'focus target'. If I have no focus target it misdirects to my active pet.

Friday Fun-Run

Friday just gone saw another Friday Fun-Run!! This week we did three little instances rather than a single larger one and as always it was a laugh.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 11

Day 11: I love doing this...

I love being the only person fishing from a pool whilst
nearby there's a bunch of people fighting over a single pool!!

Fishing alone.

Fighting for a pool.
There's one thing that I could sit and do in-game for hours on end - fishing! I know for a lot of people it's a secondary profession they'd rather not think about let alone do. I have it maxed on my hunter and am leveling it on a number of other alts. It's just so happened that today is Sunday, when the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza takes place. I try to take part in it each week and today I took these few screenshots whilst I was there.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 10

Day 10: Beverage

For this picture I've drank some Noggenfogger Elixir (sold by Sprinkle Noggenfogger) and ported to the inn in Exodar where they have these brilliant seats!

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 9

Day 9: 2 o'clock

For this one I was hoping to be on WoW at 2pm and to take a screenshot of whatever I was doing, so it was completely random. However, I was out, visiting the local second hand book shop with the boyf so here's some books/scrolls at Lorewalkers rise.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 8

Day 8: Peek-a-Boo

Can you see me?
I've been playing my Night Elf druid, Tertami, a lot recently and I'm really enjoying it. I knew that I wanted to use here racial ability Shadowmeld and where better to hide than in the Dwarven District fountain.

Here's a close up!

The Big Reveal

Last week I posted that my guild was having some issues and that the GM had essentially gone AWOL. I had a fair few responses, both on here as comments and on twitter. I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to put in their 2-pence worth - I really appreciated the fresh, outside opinions on the matter. A lot of people suggested the idea of myself and the more active players forming our own guild. This thought had crossed our minds already but I guess we were a little apprehensive and hoping the guild would pick up.

A day or so after my 'Leaderless' post the GM logged in, all be it remotely, and he actually spoke. I initially thought 'shit he's read my post' and that he was online to kick my ass about what I'd said. But no. He asked how things were and I said we were coping fine despite him vanishing. He replied with something rather blasé about not realising he'd vanished. To me this was him saying that he feels his irregular logging in and lack of interest is completely fine. It also made it clear to me that there is no reason for his absence other than he can't be bothered.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 7

Day 7: a sign

I'm afraid that I still have to be a bit cryptic about what I say here. My monks tabard is a sign of the changes that are happening in my WoW life currently. If you've been reading my tweets regarding a certain top secret operation then this is a pretty big clue (more will be revealed tomorrow...)

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 6

Day 6: This means a lot to me

This theme was quite tricky. I thought about the friends I've made, the amazing gifts I've received and the achievements I've earned. All things that mean a lot to me and help to make the game so special and my virtual home. However, picking one was proving hard. Then I realised there is one person that's been with me for a very long time and who doesn't always get the praise she deserves - Kitty.

To thank Kitty for her invaluable service I took her back to meet her family!
Kitty, aka Winna's Kitten, is my hunters main pet. I use her 99% of the time. She is with me throughout everything - be it questing, dungeons, LFR and even when I'm simply pottering around.
She's from Felwood which is a level 45-50 zone and I tamed her whilst I was leveling. That's a pretty long time ago and she's been a constant in my Azerothian life ever since then. As a tameable pet she really stood out and I knew that I wanter her to be mine! Her unusual skin often grabs peoples attention and I've only ever seen a few hunters with their own Kitty's. She really is a loyal friend!!

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 5

Day 5: Early

Whilst I'd like to pretend my morning commute to work involves getting on a boat it doesn't. But my office window looks straight out over the sea and there's often military ships moored up. This morning it was a particularly dull and rainy day - much like this scene from Menethil Harbour.

Community Blog Topic: Which faction's story would you like to see more of?

I'm a little late writing about this weeks Community Blog Topic - it's been a bit of a crazy week  and I really had to think about this one. I didn't partake in last weeks question about favourite faction leaders as my lore knowledge is pretty pants. Answering this weeks question Which faction's story would you like to see more of? has also proved a little tricky and required some serious thinking.

#WoWscreenshotaday Day 4

Day 4: Fresh

I see that a lot of people have taken screenshots from in and around the Valley of the Four Winds for this!

Saturday 3 August 2013

#WoWscreenshotaday Days 1-3 Catch-up post

Today I noticed a few of my Twitter friends posting images with the hashtag #WoWscreenshotaday. Rinike even wrote a blog post about it so it was pretty easy for me to get up to speed with what it was all about. Tycertank is the braind behind it and outlines the challenge here and answers some questions here.

Today is day three so I'm a little late to the party so this post is a catch-up. From now on I will be hopefully keeping to the schedule of an screenshot a day! I will be putting links to each post on my Screenshots tab located at the top of the page so you can look at them all or alternatively search for the label #WoWscreenshotaday on the right.

Day 1: Something beginning with N

Day 2: Incomplete

Day 3: Skyline

Friday Fun-Run!

Yesterday was Friday which means another Friday Fun-Run. We went to Ulduar and I was able to tick off a few more achievements. For some reason I didn't take any screenshots *hangs head in shame*.

Unbroken
I Choose You, Runemaster Molgeim
I Love the Smell of Saronite in the Morning
Kiss and Make Up

Getting these achieves has edged me that bit closer towards Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25 Player) but sadly I'm no where near to Glory of the Ulduar Raider.

Edit: Chromeeh filmed it! Watch it here & keep an eye out for Kitty!

Friday 2 August 2013

Al'ar Colourations

Recently a guildie got the Ashes of Al'ar mount and he was super excited about it. I think he'd been trying pretty hard to get it and his farming finally paid off. It really is a cool mount with a fairly low drop rate off of Kael'thas Sunstrider (in The Eye).

Somehow my guildie discovered that you can change the colour of the mount and he showed me how / the new colourations. I thought this was pretty funky so I took a couple of screenshots to share with you guys. I especially like the white colouration.

White - Stonebinding

Green - Green version of Fire and Brimstone
