3 Months of Blogging, Navispam and Introducing Battle Pet Theme Teams!

Today marks my 3 months of blogging aka my blogiversary. I know it's not a particularly big milestone compared with blogs that have been going for years but I'm really happy that I've made it this far!

Firstly, I would really like to thank everyone who reads my blog and comments for giving me a reason to carry on. I would also like to thank the writers of the blogs that I read - whether they know I exist or not is a different matter.

Back in November I marked my 1 month anniversary with this post and since then a lot has changed. In that post I had just got my mage to level 85 - she still remains my third level 85. Some time around my 1 month anniversary I got my copy of MoP and headed into Pandaria. Since this I have got my hunter to level 90 - finally!

My recent twitter exploits have been interesting and well worth doing. I don't have my own personal twitter so it really was a new experience but it has certainly put me in-touch with new people.
I was also very fortunate to have a fellow UK blogger Kaitz mention my blog in response to WoW Insider's question What are your favourite WoW blogs? This got my blog a load of page views and at the time of writing I'm currently on 2880 pageviews!

Unlike with my 1 month anniversary I haven't achieved anything spectacular in-game recently. But I did get a surprise visit from Navimie last night! I was so excited when I saw the whisper from Navi and it really was a surprise visit considering it wasn't server maintenance on her realm. Once I'd finished my dailies I headed over to Bloodmyst Isle to see Navi. I won't give too much away as she'll no doubt be blogging about her visit sometime in the week.

For the final bit of this blog I'd like to introduce a new blog mini-series that I'm starting. I've noticed that a lot of bloggers have mini blog series within their main blog that they update preiodically. I really like the idea of doing something like this and have got what I think is a brilliant idea. Back in December I sent Kaliy, my furtive father winter recipient, a mini-guide to winter season pets. Subsequent comments/discussion with Kaliy gave me the idea of battle pet teams based on a theme...

Now I know it's not quite the A-Team but I am hoping to get as close to the A-Team of the battle pet world as possible! My intention is to create a Battle Pet Theme Team for in-game events and real-life events starting with a Lunar Festival theme tomorrow.

  1. Theme teams sounds like a brilliant idea - I look forward to seeing what you come up with. And big congrats on the three-month mark! If I'm mathing right, this is your sixtieth post, isn't it? That's some crazy productivity right there, I don't know how you do it. Personally I find it a bit daunting/awe-inspiring that some blogs have been going for, what, three years and up, even? but with momentum like that... it's looking good. :D

    1. Thanks :) I'm quite excited about the theme teams! Yeah it is my 60th post - I hadn't realised to be honest. I do blog pretty much every day - helps me keep track of my screenshots etc. I agree - it's mental to think that people have been blogging for years but one day it really could be newbies like us setting the example :)

  2. Big congrats on your 3 month anniversary! This made me look into my blogging time and I've been blogging for 4 months, I can't actually believe that, was thinking it was more like 2! Time flies when your having fun! I look forward to the pet battling theme teams, would it be for example; at halloween you would use feline familiar, sinistersquashling and the creepy crate?

    1. Thanks. Yeah it's crazy how time really does fly. I don't feel like I've been blogging for 3 months.
I've just posted my Lunar Festival theme team post. But you've got the idea - it's just picking pets that fit the theme and trying to get a compatable 3 to use :)

  3. Ah sounds like a great idea, I did do it with the halloween ones, but like, 2 battles, nothing solid. It's a great incentive to level pets that you otherwise wouldn't due to the ingame event :D

    1. It certainly is. My biggest issue with pet battling has been the lack of balance between pet families. Even now I don't have an undead higher than ~level 20. My tiny harvester is slowly getting closer to level 25 & then I'll hopefully be able to defeat Major Payne...

  5. Grats on hitting 3 months - has it only been that long? For some reason, feels longer.
I like theme teams! I have theme teams too! I look forward to seeing yours :) And the post will be up soon, I promise! I was happy to visit even if only for a short time.

    1. I don't feel like I've been blogging that long but at the same point it's become part of my daily routine so it also feels like I've been doing it forever. Bit weird really.
