Friday just-gone I was able to return to the world of Friday Fun-Runs! /cheer
It was an interesting night for me. Firstly, someone *cough* Mrs of MrandMrsWoW *cough* got me rather intoxicated right at the start so everything was a bit fuzzy at first. Plus, we went to two places that I either hadn't been to or don't remember in any detail.

A Busy Week Fun-Running!
I haven't blogged since Wednesday due to a pretty hectic week of Fun-Runs! Tuesday right through to Friday I was on Fun-Runs and so I haven't done a great deal outside of this in-game. Plus I've been coming home from work and logging almost straight into WoW (which has got me into real-life trouble for not doing my jobs around the house, oops!). So, yesterday I caught up on the house work, gardening etc. and finally watched The Hobbit!
We started Bastion of Twilight on Tuesday evening. Previous trips to BoT have not been very successful for me! Despite this I was pretty sure things couldn't go much worse than the last time I went and thankfully I was right!!

Running into a brick wall!
I'm sure I'm not the only person who sometimes feels like their running into a brick wall - whether that is in the real world or in Azeroth. Having said that I've always been determined to never allow WoW to make me feel like this - as far as I'm concerned WoW is a game and something that I enjoy and it shouldn't be a chore etc. The same feeling extends towards this blog. Anyway, you'll (hopefully) be relieved to know that I'm not writing this as a way of saying I'm giving up either. Rather in the last week I have expereinced hitting that Azerothian brick wall head on and fortunately wasn't permanently injured!
And then the summons came. Apparently we were going to 'BoT' which it turns out is The Bastion of Twilight - a Cataclysm raid. I had no idea that it was a Cata raid or I can safely say I wouldn't have bothered! I, stupidly, trusted a guildie who said it would be fairly easy and we didn't need to know tactics - second mistake. There was six of us, all level 90 - including one healer and two tank/damage. Now, I am in no way saying it was anyone in particular's fault - I don't blame the healer for not being able to cope or anyone else. But we wiped about 4 times simply through not knowing what we were doing - so, we did need to know tactics! I then learnt that it was a Cata raid, that gigantic brick wall appeared and I smashed into it. (I left thr group).
I guess I felt like I had been lied to. Maybe I simply misunderstood, but I had not expected us to be doing an old Cata raid with 6 people (not even enough to get the achievs) in an impromptu manner with no tactical knowledge etc. I'm someone who likes to be organised - events on the in-game calendar should be up atleast a couple of days in advance so that people have time to prepare and hopefully avoid the issues that we suffered on Thursday. Some people might say that I should have taken some time to read up on the tactics anyway - and to be honest I probably should have. I am not a raider so I generally don't know any raid tactics (either current or old content) but if I ever were to raid I would pride myself on being organised and knowledgeable of the encounters which brings me to an slightly different guild-related issue that I will be writing about later in the week.
I realise this is the first time I've written a post like this - I guess you could say it's a guild-related rant. But it feels good to get these things off ones chest.

| There are some nice walls in Azeroth - Shrine of the Seven Stars, Panndaria. |
Thursday I'd had a pretty long and not particularly successful day at work. I guess you could say I had hit a fence already that day. So, when I logged onto WoW I was immediately invited to a group with no prior warning and some very limited greeting (the odd couple of hellos). In the past I do know of other guild members who have got a little riled by the immediate invitations to something that you're unaware of and are virtually forced to accept to know what's going on. Anyway, I accepted - probably my first mistake. It seemed that some people were running old raids (I thought) but first they were in Firelands farming for some gear. In the mean time I just pottered about mining, pet battling etc.

Naxx & ICC Guild Achievement Runs
Last night me and my guild did a few old raid runs. We stared off with Naxxramas which I've done a number of times whilst trying to get the pets for Raiding with Leashes. I saw the Stitched Pup drop for the first time but sadly I didn't win the roll.
We then moved on to doing an achievement run through Icecrown Citadel. We managed to scrape 8 people together and had a pretty good run. I wasn't sure if I'd been to ICC before but it turns out that I had and had a few of the achievements already - nonetheless I still got a fair few.

My First LFR!
Some of you may have seen via twitter that last night I did my first ever Looking for Raid (LFR) and so I thought I'd talk about it and share some screenshots of dead baddies with you (which I believe is customary if you're at the forefront of raiding and getting world/server firsts... yes, I'm a little behind!).

| Trash before the first boss. |
I've always been a non-raider in a primarily raiding, yet very social, guild. As of late the guild has had some issues with the number of people available to raid etc. and so has shifted it's focus more to the social aspects of WoW. Our guild master, who was very raid orientated, also left the game for personal reasons and so my boyfriend took over. [On a side note the boyf is back blogging again here]. None of these changes really bothered me and in fact I guess it made things more benefical for me. Although, a lot of people I'd grown to know who were part of the raid team have subsequently left or become in-active.

Random Screenshots & Gear!
Today I was meant to post my 12th installment of Nev's 20 Days of Gold Making but I'm finding the question quite tricky and it requires some thought. So, whilst I'm contemplating my answer, I'm going to post some screenshots that I've taken this past week or so.
Every week me and the boyf run the old raids looking for the Raiding with Leashes pets. We've been having some really bad luck with Blackwing Lair and hadn't seen a single pet. This week that changed and I got the Untamed Hatchling.
I also tamed a new pet on the way there, a yellow/gold coloured boar with spikes (aka Grunter).
My guild also did a Sunwell Plateau run. I'd never been to Sunwell so it was quite an experience. The ending was awesome and I took a few screenshots which I've narrowed down to the best, below. I was also lucky enough to have the Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas drop. I'm not 100% sure if I like it, if I'm honest, but it's one more bow to add to the collection!

I also finally got around to transmogging my gear. I went with the Dragonstalker Armour / Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix combination I previously spoke about.

Blog Azeroth: Future Raid-Drop Pets
I'm rather late in getting around to posting my response to Effraeti's (of Awaiting the Muse)question...
For me, the addition of raid-drop pets and the achievement Raiding With Leashes was really exciting. It gave me a reason to go to these old raids that I'd mostly never heard of. I had cleared the Molten Core a few times with my guild but it was this achievement that made me go back.
So, all I can say is that I would love for there to be more raid-dropped pets added in the future. Where and who they're mini versions of - I have no idea!
While running through MC, BWL, AQ40, and Naxx over the weekend, I got to thinking...It's taken me so long for a few reasons - one being the festive season but the main issue being I have very little experience and therefore knowledge of any raids! Nonetheless, I love collecting and battling pets so I wanted to think up some sort of reply. If a future patch adds more raid-dropped pets like those introduced in 5.1, what pets would you like to see? What raid and boss would they be available from?
