1. What is your favourite zone in WoW?

Hmm pre-Pandaria I'd probably have said Stranglethorn (north & south) or maybe Grizzly Hills but I think Krasarang Wilds is my current love. Despite all the Mogu it's a rather tranquil place and perfect for fishing - one of my in-game loves.

2. What is you idea of a perfect day?

I think my perfect day would be a mixture of being out & about, playing computer games and sat schnuggled up with my zebra blanket. Most evenings I actually sit playing WoW wrapped up in my blanket or in my Jedi Robes. I'd go for a stroll in town (assuming it was sunny), I love window shoopping for pets and then home for gaming. To top  it off I'd either have take away or some other home cooked yummy food (i.e. Chinese, pizza, curry...).

3. If you could be any npc, who would it be and why?

Well the obviously choice would be Jojo the Pandaren that sells cooking supplies in the Shrine! 
Alternatively someone like Nat Pagle who just chills out all day by the sea fishing.

4. Aside from food, water, and shelter, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Other people. I'm a sociable person and I get lonely quite easily - unless I can distract myself playing games etc. So if I had nothing but food, water and shelter I'd probably go crazy pretty quick. I also, unsurprisingly, suffer from cabin fever!

5. Why do you blog?

I started blogging after I finished my masters as something to fill my time whilst I was looking for a job. When I got a job I never stopped blogging although admittedly my blogging has gotten less frequent. I suppose it's fair to say I still blog as I enjoy it. It gives me a media to ramble about my virtual life and I've met some amazing people as a result of it! I hope that by continuing to blog I'll more awesome people too.

6. What would you tell a brand new wow player about the game?

If it's grey vendor it but other things you should try to sell (auction) - atleast test the water - you could make a lot of money.
And the internet turns even the nicest people into jerks - ignore them and move on... but never give up!

7. If you could pick any theme for the next expansion what would it be?

I don't know a lot of lore if I'm honest so I wouldn't pick anything lore based like this Emerald something that lots of people chat about. And WoD fits with my desire to have more Draenei lore going on. Which leaves me with nothing springing to mind if I'm honest.

8. What is your favourite mount?

I think I did a post about my favourite mounts not too long ago. Since that post I've actually gained a few new mounts too. But, if I had to pick one mount *grumbles* I'd probably go with... the Swift Zhevra which I don't and probably never will own.

9. What cheers you up?

Food, cider, schnuggles, gaming...
10. Glass half full or half empty?

Half full! I like to be positive as much as possible.

11. What your favourite thing to do in wow?


I don't think I could name just one so I'll list a few of the things I enjoy - leveling, pet battles, the so called 'boring' things (i.e. fishing, archaeology and farming ores, herbs etc.) and my most recent love has to be flex raiding. Never thought I'd enjoy flexing as much as I do - the people are definitely a contributing factor! [Same goes for Friday Fun Runs - we could be doing anything, it's the people that make it].

You Can Call Me Lorewalker Jo!

On Sunday I finally reached exalted status with The Lorewalkers! Grinding rep with them has been on my list of to do's for ages now but I think knowing that it required me to fly around looking for scrolls resulted in me keeping on putting it off. That was until this past weekend.

I had a really bad back all weekend and earlier this week (but it's much better now) which meant that I either had to keep moving or sit really still to be comfy. This meant nothing to serious (ie. dungeons or raid finder). I started off with some archaeology and then thought 'why not work on the lorewalkers'.

I managed to get multiple stories going at once :)

I started off by making a note of which scrolls I'd already found and was quite surprised at how mnay I'd found for myself (about 1/3 - 1/2). I then managed to find a couple of awesome guides on Wowhead. Wowheads own guide is brilliant as it has maps with pins marking each scrolls location - but I wasnted to cut corners and only go to the scrolls I needed. I then stumbled across a fan written guide - Exploration in MoP - All Lore Objects and Achievements. Again this included maps with pins but no details of what was where... until I read the comments.

 

One fabulous person had posted a comment detailing the name of each scroll and it's location (in co-ordinates). I don't think they listed every single scroll but there was enough to be able to work out which was where. So, I used this info along with the pinned maps in the two aforementioned guides.

It didn't take me long to do and I even took the time to read most of the scrolls. I'm not brilliant at lore but this will certainly have helped. Then ofcourse came the silver lining(s) - Lorewalkers Tabard and the fabled Disc of the Red Flying Cloud!

That's one rep grind ticked off the list with plenty more to go...

#IntPiPoMo 2013 #1: Shrine of the Seven Stars

A few weeks ago I posted about IntPiPoMo 2013 and I've since slacked off a bit. Which means with just 10 days of November left I am facing the task of taking 50 screenshots!

For me the Shrine of the Seven Stars is a place I visit most times that I am in Azeroth yet I've never fully appreciated it for all it's little quirky features. Here's some of them...

Day 23: Yellow

This picture is off the skyline in the Blade's Edge Mountains. I really struggled to think of something that matched the theme of yellow! Nonetheless I'm really glad I made the decision to travel to this zone.

Day 25: Culture

Whilst leveling my Druid in Terokkar Forest I came across the Arakkoa. They're a strange bunch of bird people and I imagine their cultures pretty weird too.

My Legendary Quest: Part 1

A couple of days ago I completed the first part of the Legendary quest chain, Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince. I know I'm quite far behind some people but considering I only sporadically do LFR I don't think it's taken me too long. I also had a bit of bad luck with collecting the sigils. On Sunday, I finished off with 19 Sigil of Power and 10 Sigil of Wisdom.

I've Finally got a Hunter Pet from Pandaria!!!

You may have seen on Twitter last night that I've finally got myself a hunter pet from Pandaria! It's taken me several months, I know, but I've been very distracted by pet battles, reputation and mounts.

Dusty Track? I wonder what that is!?!

I was doing my Golden Lotus daily quests when I happened upon a Dusty Track. Now initially I thought something along the lines of "hmm, what's that for? I'm sure I've read about these paw prints". A few minutes later it hit me - it was the track of a trackable hunter pet! I must admit I got a little excited and stopped what I was doing to follow the track.

I followed the tracks from where I was, just north-west of Mistfall Village, right around to the western end of Portent's track (at the time I had no idea what/who I was tracking). I thought I had missed something and checked out WoW Rare Spawns post on Portent. I then got really excited - having seen that not only was I tracking Portent the Quilen but that he came in four colour skins.

Anyway, I saw that I was at the end of his path (I'd walked into a wall) so started following the tracks back around. Now I've recently been having issues with my laptop/graphics card and keep having random flickering trees that are there one second and then vanish before popping back up again. Based on this I thought that I was having issues seeing the tracks - how wrong I was!!!

The boyfriend came home so I eagerly told him I was tracking Portent and got him to read up on taming him for me. I directed the boyf to WoW Rare Spawns and it seems that I had missed some rather important information! The trackable pets are stealthed and you need to use flare gun to see them. It seems that I had been following him the whole time - explaining my issues in seeing the tracks. By this point I was at the eastern edge of his path, unstealthed and tamed him.

And here he is, my very own blue Portent!

 

I've replaced Cyril my core hound with him. I hardly ever used my core hound due to the necessity of BM-spec so felt that a simple replacement would work best. I plan to sort out my BM action bars so that I can actually play it sometime soon.

Also, I'd just thought I'd quickly recommend WoW Rare Spawns to anyone that doesn't read/use it already. Euphyley has some brilliant guides on there (just helps if you read them first).

Order of the Cloud Serpent!

I haven't blogged (or even played WoW) very much in the last week or so. You may have seen via twitter that I pulled a muscle in my neck/shoulder at the end of last week so I didn't play at all for a few days. This week has also been very hectic and I've been lucky to get my dailies done let alone any leveling etc. But things have settled back down and I intend to get back into my usual daily routine meaning more in-game time and blogs.

 

 

Anyway, on Monday I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of game time. I've been slowly working on my reputation with the Golden Lotus - I'm currently friendly. But I guess I was looking for an excuse to spend more in-game time on my hunter and so I decided to start grinding rep with the Order of the Cloud Serpent. As of yesterday, I have completed their daily quests twice. I'm enjoying their dailies in particular the fishing and cooking quests! There's also some great scenery in the local area and I've taken some screenshots to share with you.

As my reward for Choosing the One I picked the Green Serpent Egg and I'm really looking forward to growing my own mount. I'm not sure if I'll buy the other two mount colour variations or attempt to grind the rep on a couple of other characters - depends how lazy I'm feeling really.

The Jade Forest - A Gnomes-Eye View

The last few days I've been working on leveling my Gnome mage through the Jade Forest. This is my second character that I'm leveling in Pandaria so it's still rather new to me. Especially, as my hunter was virtually level 87 when I got into Pandaria (thanks to the 10-day free trial and lots of farming) so I went straight into the Valley of the Four Winds.

I'm not particularly worried about getting to 90 asap so decided to take my time. I completed the Upjade Complete achievement, although it bugged out a little, and headed to Kun-Lai (I was already level 87).

Overall, I really enjoyed leveling through the Jade Forest and took a ridiculous amount of screenshots - even more than usual! I've picked out the best and have included them below. Due to not being level 90 I can't fly in Pandaria yet so some of the screenshots don't look as good as they would from an elevated height hence it's a Gnomes-eye view.

Exalted Status', Mounts & Screenshots Galore!

Since hitting level 90 on my hunter I've been working on three faction reputations: the Tillers, the Anglers and the Klaxxi. Back at the end of January I managed to reach exalted status with the Tillers and posted some screenshots from my travels with them.

Since then I've been working away doing dailies getting ever closer to exhalted status and the awesome mounts associated with these two factions. This week my hard work has finally paid off and I've been rewarded!

Angler-ific!
Early this week I reached exalted with the Anglers and got the Azure Water Strider mount and the tabard. I had previously bought the Fishing Raft upon reaching revered. I haven't taken may screenshots whilst doing the Anglers dailies as there's not much to see. I have taken a picture of my strider and I even experimented with bandicam.com and video'd myself running around on it (but as I don't have a youtube account you can't see it).

Klaxxi Krazy!

I thought Tuesday was the night I'd hit exalted with the Klaxxi. I settled down and did my dailies with my goal in mind - the Amber Scorpion! Once I'd handed in my dailies I was just short of the mark - it was gutting! Last night I logged in and did the one quest I needed to tip me over the edge and to exalted status. I immediately bought my scorpion mount and took a few screenshots. I then finshed off the Klaxxi questing to get the Seal of the Windreaver. I'd taken quite a few Klaxxi-esque screenshots so I've included the best below.
