The Past Month in WoW

This is my follow up post to last weeks return to blogging post and will be about what I've been up to this past month in Azeroth.

The Liebster Awards: Part 2

1. What is your favourite zone in WoW?

Hmm pre-Pandaria I'd probably have said Stranglethorn (north & south) or maybe Grizzly Hills but I think Krasarang Wilds is my current love. Despite all the Mogu it's a rather tranquil place and perfect for fishing - one of my in-game loves.

2. What is you idea of a perfect day?

I think my perfect day would be a mixture of being out & about, playing computer games and sat schnuggled up with my zebra blanket. Most evenings I actually sit playing WoW wrapped up in my blanket or in my Jedi Robes. I'd go for a stroll in town (assuming it was sunny), I love window shoopping for pets and then home for gaming. To top  it off I'd either have take away or some other home cooked yummy food (i.e. Chinese, pizza, curry...).

3. If you could be any npc, who would it be and why?

Well the obviously choice would be Jojo the Pandaren that sells cooking supplies in the Shrine!
Alternatively someone like Nat Pagle who just chills out all day by the sea fishing.

Jojo & Jojo

4. Aside from food, water, and shelter, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Other people. I'm a sociable person and I get lonely quite easily - unless I can distract myself playing games etc. So if I had nothing but food, water and shelter I'd probably go crazy pretty quick. I also, unsurprisingly, suffer from cabin fever!

5. Why do you blog?

I started blogging after I finished my masters as something to fill my time whilst I was looking for a job. When I got a job I never stopped blogging although admittedly my blogging has gotten less frequent. I suppose it's fair to say I still blog as I enjoy it. It gives me a media to ramble about my virtual life and I've met some amazing people as a result of it! I hope that by continuing to blog I'll more awesome people too.

6. What would you tell a brand new wow player about the game?

If it's grey vendor it but other things you should try to sell (auction) - atleast test the water - you could make a lot of money.
And the internet turns even the nicest people into jerks - ignore them and move on... but never give up!

7. If you could pick any theme for the next expansion what would it be?

I don't know a lot of lore if I'm honest so I wouldn't pick anything lore based like this Emerald something that lots of people chat about. And WoD fits with my desire to have more Draenei lore going on. Which leaves me with nothing springing to mind if I'm honest.

8. What is your favourite mount?

I think I did a post about my favourite mounts not too long ago. Since that post I've actually gained a few new mounts too. But, if I had to pick one mount *grumbles* I'd probably go with... the Swift Zhevra which I don't and probably never will own.

9. What cheers you up?

Food, cider, schnuggles, gaming...
10. Glass half full or half empty?

Half full! I like to be positive as much as possible.

11. What your favourite thing to do in wow?

I don't think I could name just one so I'll list a few of the things I enjoy - leveling, pet battles, the so called 'boring' things (i.e. fishing, archaeology and farming ores, herbs etc.) and my most recent love has to be flex raiding. Never thought I'd enjoy flexing as much as I do - the people are definitely a contributing factor! [Same goes for Friday Fun Runs - we could be doing anything, it's the people that make it].

It's been a while... [Re-Cap post on Legendaries, Mounts and /Flex]

I've not had much spare time these past few months which has really hampered the amount of time I have been able to play WoW let alone catch-up on the latest news & blogs and write my own. But I'm glad to say after a couple of weeks working 12-hour days we hit our deadline (31st March) and our draft advice is now out for review /cheer.

Despite been busy I have managed to achieve a fair amount of things this past month...

Sneak peak...

Fun-Runs and /flex!

It's been a while since I posted about either Friday Fun-Runs or my guild's latest venture into flex raiding so here's a brief update.

Friday Fun Run: Mogu'shan Vaults 10-man

We got frozen
For last Friday's Fun Run we went pretty hardcore (compared to our normal exploits) and had a shot at Mogu'shan Vaults 10-man. We went with 2 tanks, 2 healers and the rest deepsies which given how most of us out-gear if phenomenally sounds like a pretty good line up... but one healer and one tank we're fresh at 90. Having said that they both did amazingly well!!

Sat with Rinike :)
I think we had three or four deaths in total and no wipes. And whilst it's hardly surprising that we did so well I'm hoping that this will give a few people a slight confidence boost.

Overall I think we all had a brilliant time. It was nice to push ourselves that little bit rather than steam-rollering through older content like ICC or Naxx. I really hope we can do some more 'current' content such as Throne of Thunder but I don't think were quite ready for Siege of Orgrimmar quite yet.

As usual Chro filmed the whole event and you can watch the highlights here.

Headless...

Sometimes I think I'd lose my head if it wasn't screwed on - yeah we've all heard the phrase and how true it can be!?! On Friday I was having a particularly silly day... all during the Friday Fun Run!

The first incident was within 10-15mins of forming the group. We'd just got into Ulduar (10-man) and Chro was sorting who was taking what vehicle - i.e. siege engines. We had a new face who happened to be a male Draenei so I did what any self-respecting female Draenei would and complemented his hooves. Yes, it was slightly creepy and extremely weird (even for me).

Friday Fun-Run: Ulduar

Last Friday we went to Ulduar which has to be one of my favourite old raids to visit. I love how it has a variety of different elements (from tank driving to standard pew-pewing) and goes from being in the snowy outdoors to the lush conservatory garden area.

My mission this week was to take a load of screenshots as I've been lacking recently so here's just a few:

In terms of achievements I got Supermassive, Can't Do That While Stunned and Disarmed - the latter helping me towards Glory of the Ulduar Raider (for which I only need Orbit-uary and Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare).

Chromeeh has uploaded a video of the run and as always a massive thanks to those that attended and if anyone's interested then come along this week (20:30 server time, Alliance, EU).

Friday Fun-Run

As usual there was a Friday Fun-Run this week and we managed to pack a few different instances in. I joined a little late on for the last boss of The Ruby Sanctum and earnt The Twilight Destroyer achievement. We then headed to the Trial of the Crusader and finally to the Throne of the Four Winds.

I'm always amazed at how pretty the Throne of the Four Winds is. I upped my graphics to ultra for the screenshots as having it any lower really doesn't do it justice!

As always thank you to everyone who was there and made it an awesome Friday evening. If you're interested then speak to Chromeeh_Gnome or anyone that regular attends.

Here is this weeks video:

A Bit of Everything

I've been a bit slack with blogging the last few weeks. Last week was graduation week and I've spent a fair bit of this week in bed with an evil cold/flu. I'm still somewhat ill but as I'm able to actually get out of bed and move (unlike Wednesday) I'm considering myself to be fit and well. I've also had some brilliant news on the job front but will post about that seperately next week when I know more, definite details. Anyway this blog is made up of mostly old-ish news but nonetheless it's news (unless you happened to have read about it via Twitter).

What happens if you place a Thermal Anvil & Blingtron...

Friday Fun-Run & #HunterWeek Part 2: BM Spec.

Yesterday was Friday, which means it was Friday Fun-Run time!! This time we ventured to Bastion of Twilight - my nemesis! We were missing Miss Murloc but had gained a few different people - including Wallace, I have no idea who exactly Wallace is but he turned out to be very useful and the inspiration of many jokes!

You might be wondering how exactly a Friday Fun-Run relates to #HunterWeek other than me taking my hunter to said fun-run. Well on my Part 1 post I mentioned that I wanted to try out Beast Mastery spec once again. Since hitting max level during Cata (aka level 85) it has been my secondary spec rather than my main so it's been a long time.

Friday Fun-Run! BWD & FotFW

Friday just-gone I was able to return to the world of Friday Fun-Runs! /cheer

It was an interesting night for me. Firstly, someone *cough* Mrs of MrandMrsWoW *cough* got me rather intoxicated right at the start so everything was a bit fuzzy at first. Plus, we went to two places that I either hadn't been to or don't remember in any detail.

Friday Fun-Run

Friday just gone saw another Friday Fun-Run!! This week we did three little instances rather than a single larger one and as always it was a laugh.

Friday Fun-Run!

Yesterday was Friday which means another Friday Fun-Run. We went to Ulduar and I was able to tick off a few more achievements. For some reason I didn't take any screenshots *hangs head in shame*.

Unbroken
I Choose You, Runemaster Molgeim
I Love the Smell of Saronite in the Morning
Kiss and Make Up

Getting these achieves has edged me that bit closer towards Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25 Player) but sadly I'm no where near to Glory of the Ulduar Raider.

Edit: Chromeeh filmed it! Watch it here & keep an eye out for Kitty!

Friday Fun-Run: ICC

Having missed last weeks Friday Fun-Run I was keen to get back into the swing of Fun-Running and seeing the usuals etc. It was also a bit of a surprise location until about 10-15minutes before start time - we went to Icecrown Citadel which happens to be one of my favourite raids (out of those I've been to).

A Busy Week Fun-Running!

I haven't blogged since Wednesday due to a pretty hectic week of Fun-Runs! Tuesday right through to Friday I was on Fun-Runs and so I haven't done a great deal outside of this in-game. Plus I've been coming home from work and logging almost straight into WoW (which has got me into real-life trouble for not doing my jobs around the house, oops!). So, yesterday I caught up on the house work, gardening etc. and finally watched The Hobbit!

We started Bastion of Twilight on Tuesday evening. Previous trips to BoT have not been very successful for me! Despite this I was pretty sure things couldn't go much worse than the last time I went and thankfully I was right!!

Day 1

Friday Fun-Run: Naxx etc.

This past Friday I was able to make it on a Twitter-guild Friday Fun-Run. As usual it was a brilliant event with lots of achievs and giggles!! We also had a brilliant turn-out which included a lot of Draenei!!

Friday Fun-Run!

Last night was the first Friday Fun-Run (as I'm calling it) but it looks like these will be becoming regular events. It was organised via the wonder that is twitter with MissMurloc and Chromeeh (GM of Sophrosyne, Nordrassil) and the helm. The idea of these events is primarily fun-runs to get achievs, mounts etc from older content and if you're interested then check out twitter for details.

Unfortunately I was at work late (stupid contract deadlines) so I missed most of the fun but I did make it home for the last few bosses in Ulduar. It was really fun for the short time that I was involved. Here's the achievements I managed to get:

                Firefighter (25 Player)
Alone in the Darkness (25 Player)
He's Not Getting Any Older (25 Player)
The Descent into Madness (25 Player)

Which help me towards The Secrets of Ulduar (25 Player) and Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25 Player) which rewards the Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake.
